Meal Volunteers: Nourishing Our Residents, One Meal at a Time
At Benjamin’s House, we know that sharing a meal is about more than just food—it’s about creating connection, offering comfort, and building community. Our Meal Volunteers are an essential part of this mission, supporting residents with nutritious meals and, when possible, staying to serve or even eat alongside them. Whether you’re an individual, family, group, or organization, your contributions truly make a difference.
How to Participate We encourage volunteers to share not just a meal but their time and presence. Here’s how you can get involved:
Stay and Serve (or Even Share a Meal!)
Join us in creating a welcoming community by serving your meal or sitting down to eat with residents and staff. It’s a meaningful way to connect, learn more about the shelter, and truly become a Friend of Benjamin’s House.
No need to bring extra dishes or utensils—we have everything needed to serve and enjoy your meal together.
Drop Off a Meal
If staying isn’t an option, we’re grateful for your contribution. Here are some guidelines to make meal drop-offs easy:
Disposable containers are appreciated to simplify cleanup.
We can provide pans, crockpots, or roasters if needed—just call ahead.
If using your own containers, please label them with your name so we can set them aside for return.
Plan Your Meal
Meals are served daily, and we appreciate a variety of dishes, including those that accommodate dietary needs. Contact us ahead of time to coordinate your meal and schedule.
Become a Regular Contributor
Many of our volunteers provide meals monthly, offering a dependable source of nourishment and support for our residents.
