Uncertainty to Independence

Breum's Story: From Uncertainty to Independence

At Benjamin’s House, every individual who walks through our doors has a story — and each journey is a testament to resilience, hope, and the power of community. One of those inspiring journeys is Breum’s.

In Her Words:
“When I arrived at Benjamin’s House, I had little to nothing—no vehicle, no job, no place to live.

Yes, I did the work, however, Benjamin’s House helped me completely change my life all in 5 months. I got a job, a vehicle, and a place for my daughters and I to live!

Benjamin’s House helped hold me accountable for life with daily chores and a curfew, which helped me structure my time and focus on myself and what I had to do. There was always someone available to help with applications, finding community resources, and things as simple as giving you a pep talk if that’s what you needed.”

A Brighter Future:
Breum’s story is a powerful example of what’s possible when individuals are met with compassion, structure, and the tools they need to succeed. Through hard work and support from our staff, Breum not only regained her independence, but created a stable, healthy home for her daughters — all within just five months.

At Benjamin’s House, we believe everyone deserves a chance, and stories like Breum’s remind us why we do what we do.
Lead with your heart by helping your neighbors who need it the most!
